Age Confidently With Our New Facial Cosmetic Services

Stress, lifestyle habits, environmental exposure and age can take a toll on anyone. While everyone feels differently about growing older, what matters most is feeling healthy and confident.

If you’re looking to achieve a radiant, more youthful appearance, Holland Hospital now offers facial cosmetic services. “Aging is expected. We all age differently, but we will all experience significant soft tissue and skin changes throughout the aging process,” said Nathan Salinas, MD, board-certified facial plastic surgeon and ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist. “For those who want to actively manage their aging experience rather than just let it happen, we have services to help.”

“These noninvasive, state-of-the-art procedures help people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin,” he added.

Located in our newly renovated 844 Washington Ave office, Holland Hospital Facial Cosmetic Services provides access to the latest noninvasive facial treatment technologies:

MonaLisa Touch®

The MonaLisa Touch is a fractional carbon dioxide laser that delivers energy to tissue. With laser skin revitalization, pulses of focused light penetrate your skin’s sub-layers, pinpointing its aging support structure. Your body’s own natural healing process will then rebuild tissue with a more even, toned appearance and fewer wrinkles.

MonaLisa Touch reduces common signs of aging, from wrinkles and crow’s feet to sun damage, irregular skin color and scarring—without surgery and with minimal downtime.

TempSure Envi®

Targeting sagging and loose soft tissue under the skin, the TempSure Envi delivers gentle warming radiofrequency energy to the targeted facial area. This device is safe for all skin types and levels of sun exposure, so it’s a perfect fit any time of year. Treatments do not require surgery, needles or downtime, so you can immediately return to everyday activities looking and feeling great.

Below are answers to some frequently asked questions about these technologies:

What are MonaLisa Touch and TempSure Envi used for?

Both of these technologies are commonly used to reduce common signs of aging, improve overall skin texture, and restore soft tissue tone and lift. MonaLisa Touch is also used to:

  • Treat sunspots and some pigmented lesions
  • Diminish the appearance of rosacea
  • Reverse the signs of sun-damaged skin

How do they work?

MonaLisa Touch and TempSure Envi are both used to help boost collagen and elastin growth. TempSure Envi is a radiofrequency device that applies heat to the soft tissue below the skin. MonaLisa Touch uses focused pulses of light (laser) to penetrate the skin itself.

Treatment areas for these devices may include the forehead, around the eyes to address crow’s feet, around the mouth for smile lines, over the cheeks, and along borders of the jaw and neck to improve tone and skin color.

Are treatments painful?

While treatments may cause a warming sensation, they should not cause pain. Dr. Salinas uses a topical anesthetic to ensure a comfortable experience. There is no downtime with the TempSure Envi and minimal downtime with the MonaLisa Touch.

How many treatments are needed?

Depending on the targeted area(s), treatment sessions can take between 15 and 60 minutes.

Because every patient is different, the number of treatments will vary. Dr. Salinas will work with you to determine the treatment plan that’s right for you.

Are there any side effects?

Treatment with either device is gentle and generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects. TempSure Envi and MonaLisa Touch may cause skin redness, which will subside after a few days.

Are these procedures covered by insurance?

MonaLisa Touch and TempSure Envi procedures are self-pay and not covered by insurance.
